Education is the key to unlocking a world of opportunities, but unfortunately, many marginalized youth face barriers to accessing quality education and training. From immigrant backgrounds to Roma children and the disabled, the list of hurdles these youths must overcome can seem insurmountable. However, hope is on the horizon in the form of the Global Education for Youth Workers (GE4YOUTH) project.
Between April 24th – 28th 2023, in Krakow (Poland), PRISM and the project partnership were hosted by Diversity Hub to the first empowering training program to initially test the GE4YOUTH modules. The training program brought together 23 participants from Italy, Spain, Ireland, Czech Republic, and Poland, all eager to learn about Global Education and how to use its tools to support marginalized youth. During the training, participants discussed the opportunities, challenges, and traits of Global Education in Europe. They also had the opportunity to enjoy the first draft of the Global Education Modules, designed for both beginners and experts.
The training has been designed to be engaging while covering themes such as human rights, democracy, active citizenship, gender equality, intercultural and interfaith dialogue, fair trade, and mental health. By empowering youth workers with these Global Education approaches, the GE4YOUTH project hopes to make a significant impact in the lives of marginalized youth. This initiative was made possible through the Erasmus+ KA2: Cooperation partnerships in YOUTH program, which aims to prevent the marginalization of disadvantaged youth and improve social cohesion through digital tools.
The GE4YOUTH project is more than just a training program; it’s a game-changer for marginalized youth. With its focus on empowering youth workers with Global Education approaches, the GE4YOUTH project is creating a world where all youth have access to quality education and training, regardless of their background or circumstance.
