From October 7th to 9th, 2024, the significant training event “Train the Trainers” was held in Sofia as part of the Erasmus+ School+Family Alliance project. Teachers and educators from six partner countries (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Bulgaria, and Turkey) gathered to initiate a collaborative effort aimed at strengthening the school-family relationship to combat school dropout.
The event took place within the beautiful institutional and architectural setting of Sofia University, where over the course of three days, moments of theoretical presentation were interspersed with practical activities and reflective discussions. Participants worked together on various training modules designed to promote active family involvement in school life. Key topics included the importance of family engagement, the crucial role of teachers in building a bridge between schools and parents, and the development of targeted school action plans.
There was great participation and interest shown by all partners, who actively contributed to both the practical sessions and discussions. This event marks the beginning of a strong synergy between the different project actors, all sharing the common goal of improving the educational future of students and reducing school dropout rates.
With the success of this first training event, a solid foundation has been laid for the continuation of activities within the School+Family Alliance project, which will see teachers and families working closely together to ensure the academic success of students.
