The 3rd face-to-face meeting of the 2GEM project has been successfully held in Palermo, Italy, during the 28th and 29th of June; hosted by PRISM Impresa Sociale s.r.l. and with the contribution of all partners from ASDA ry (Finland), MOSAIC (United Kingdom), FRAME (Poland), ECQ (Bulgaria) and PELICAN (Czech Republic).
The partners managed to meet to discuss the last – but quite dense – steps of the project, before the final transnational project meeting and conference which will take place in Helsinki, Finland, hometown of the coordinator of the project: ASDA ry.
The project 2GEM – Second Generation of European Migrants aims at equipping 1.5 and second-generation migrants with skills, competences and knowledge necessary to act as intercultural workers within their communities by building on their unique cultural assets.
Until now, almost four of the foreseen five intellectual outputs have been developed:
- A detailed overview of available information on the issue of 1.5 and second-generation migrants and intercultural work;
- A comparative map which gathers information about approaches to intercultural work in the partner countries;
- A guide for trainers and educators on how to run a course for intercultural workers;
- A training program for people of migrant origin from 1.5 and second generations to get acquainted with the field of intercultural work
According to the next steps, partner organizations will translate the results of the fourth output and will develop the contents of the last output foreseen: an innovative online course containing all projects resources freely accessible for everyone who could be interested in the topic (students, teachers, non-profit organizations, adult learners, social workers, etc.), which will also be available in 6 different languages (English, Polish, Czech, Italian, Bulgarian and Finnish).
The project is almost coming to an end, since it will finish on October, 2022, but we are approaching months of hard work in order to deliver quality products and contents to let people open up to new field of work!
