The B2Gs project contributes to the physical and, consequently, the mental wellbeing of pupils and students. It promotes the utilization of sports and games as a means to cultivate creativity, collaboration, and trust, enhancing motivation, nurturing strengths, addressing weaknesses, and developing environmentally friendly skills. This is achieved by providing engaging learning materials with visual and written instructions, along with suggestions for utilizing recycled materials.

  • To identify the games most beneficial to students’ health and physical wellbeing by conducting extensive research.
  • To use games and sports activities as a tool to develop creativity, collaboration and confidence, to improve motivation, to nurture strengths, and to improve ecological skills by providing engaging learning materials with visual and written instructions, as well as suggestions for using recycled materials.
  • To improve students’ digital skills and foster the inclusion of disadvantaged groups by developing an online platform that will host the learning modules developed.
  • Identifying content related to sports, games, and ‘Do it Yourself’ (DIY) green activities in collaboration with students and thematic experts.
  • Creating Learning Modules designed to support adolescents and young people in rediscovering traditional outdoor childhood games.
  • Conducting Cross Functional Collaboration and Knowledge Transfer Workshops.
  • National and European Reports identifying learning needs and analysing research findings.
  • B2G ePlatform and Learning Modules designed to improve the physical health, and hence the mental health and overall wellbeing of pupils, students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders from different generation, including people with fewer opportunities.
  • Technical and functional Platform specifications of the B2G platform and its learning contents.

Results

  • Promoted health and wellbeing: students need help to develop healthy habits and improve their physical fitness.
  • Enhanced academic performance: physical activity can enhance cognitive function and academic performance.
  • Fostered social and emotional skills: along with academic knowledge students need to develop skills such as teamwork, communication, and leadership.
  • Addressed sedentary behaviour: a growing problem among children and adolescents, which can lead to a range of health problems.
  • Provided equal opportunities for participation for all students, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status.
