The project aims at developing peer-mentoring resources to prevent depressive disorders among young people, with an emphasis on utilizing their peers for support. This will involve enlisting resilient young individuals as volunteers while equipping them with the necessary tools to assist their at-risk peers in dealing with depression.
- To establish a robust framework for adolescent peer mentoring, reducing the risk of depressive behaviours and social exclusion.
- To empower resilient young volunteers to assume the role of mentors and provide support to their peers.
- To equip mentors with essential tools, resources, and guidance for effective peer mentoring.
- To encourage peer cooperation as an innovative form of volunteerism within the project’s scope.
- Conducting in-depth research to understand the communication needs of teenagers and effective ways to engage them.
- Creating an interactive online skill assessment tool for aspiring youth mentors, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation process.
- Organising a range of engaging youth activities, including role-playing, flash mobs, and creative expressions like videos, images, and podcasts by employing methods such as bilateral diaries and self-paced materials to nurture mentees’ development.
- Delivering specialized training sessions for trainers, equipping them with the necessary skills to mentor both educators and students effectively.
- Online SKILLS’ ASSESSMENT TOOL allowing young people to assess their strengths and weaknesses in terms of social competences.
- TOOLKIT including both youth activities for mentors and mentees for the development of specific skills and competences: social skills, personal skills, mental resilience, wellbeing.
- GUIDE FOR EDUCATORS on how to work with mentors and mentees and on how to supervise the mentoring process.
