The CARE4YOUTH project is dedicated to exploring and improving the condition of young people transitioning from care systems to adulthood. The National Report on Italy serves as an accessible document for understanding the Italian context regarding unaccompanied foreign minors and minors outside family settings who are transitioning out of welfare systems. It is analyzed from a demographic perspective, focusing on educational needs, employment challenges, and best practices, with a specific focus on sports and recreational activities.
The document also examines integration into the labor market and the main institutional and social barriers faced by these young people.
Among the good practices mapped by the project in Italy, the following stand out:
- Mediterraneo Antirazzista, a sports and cultural initiative promoting social inclusion in the most vulnerable neighborhoods.
- Modello Harraga, which supports personalized training, guidance, and job placement pathways for young migrants.
- Piattaforma GIOVANI 2030, offering digital tools to access training and job opportunities.
The report emphasizes the importance of collaboration between public, private, and third-sector entities to create an integrated and continuous support system for the most vulnerable young people.
