The role of cooperation, in our society, is important to decrease inequalities between people and countries.
For this reason, thanks to the project CYSD – Community based youth work and sustainable Development in EU and Africa (N. 618512-EPP-1-2020-1-IT-EPPKA2-CBY-ACPALA) the Consortium met in Palermo, hosted by PRISM Impresa Sociale s.r.l., to discuss and learn about Project Cycle Management and Community Development linked to youth work.
Participants learnt how to undertake a “community-based analysis”, how to design a logical framework matrix, develop, manage and evaluate community-based projects, following the methodology of peer and cooperative learning.
One of the main teachers was Alessandro Melillo, PRISM’s Impresa Sociale founder and main expert in Project Cycle Management that, thanks to its experience, allow participants to develop new ideas and create new project proposal, strengthening the cooperation between European and African countries.
The training course was held from September 13th to 21st, 2022 and involved people coming from several countries as Italy, Greece, Turkey, South Africa, Ghana, Togo, Uganda, Kenya and Zambia.
In this occasion, PRISM had the opportunity to share some local good practices with participants, to give them the possibility to reproduce Sicilian best examples in their local context. We met Booq, where in one of the most vulnerable neighbourhood of the city, some guys decided to “build” a place of youngsters for youngsters.
Then, we had the pleasure to meet Lucia Lauro, founder of Cotti in fragranza thanks to who the team had the possibility to taste a unique pizza, prepared in one of the most inclusive restaurants in town.
This led participants to share their local good practices with the team!
The final result of this training was a multicultural learning by doing thanks to the intervention of many experts. PRISM gave the possibility to participants to know Palermo, to talk about hot and inclusive topics, to discuss on what we can do with our daily work to decrease inequalities and to develop, in the best way possible, our communities.
