Final conference of the ECOTOURS Project: Sustainable tourism and circular tourism models

On May 9th, 2025 at 3:00 PM, the final conference of the European project ECOTOURS will take place at the University of Palermo – DEMS Department, under the title “Sustainable Tourism and Circular Tourism Models.”

The event, organized by PRISM Impresa Sociale, will offer an important opportunity to share the results of the project and foster discussion on best practices for the sustainable development of rural and coastal marginal areas through tourism.

A rich agenda

The conference will open with an introduction to ECOTOURS, focusing on circular economy, communities, and territories. Three key sessions will follow:

  • An overview of emerging trends for the development of local communities;
  • The training pathway and sustainability certifications for tourism SMEs, a key step toward the ecological transition of the sector;
  • The presentation of the ECOTOURS itineraries, developed throughout the project’s implementation in various regions.

A project funded by the European Union

The ECOTOURS project (Grant agreement no. 101085853), co-funded by the European Union, aims to enhance natural and cultural heritage through circular tourism models, with strong involvement from small and medium-sized tourism enterprises and local communities.
