Transnational meeting days for PRISM Impresa Sociale. On 3th and 4th November we hosted the partners of the Youth Climate Empowerment project, to monitor the implementation phases of the project and agree on the next steps.
Main objective of the project is to bring together different non-profit youth
organisations in Europe working on environmental issues, to improve international cooperation, increase knowledge about nature and raise awareness. More specifically, the focus will be on creating and providing tools to NGOs on how to involve young people in order to plan and manage local green campaigns and concrete actions. For this purpose, an e- book containing existing good practices will be issued. It will represent a precious inspirational tool to extend such initiatives beyond the small-scale dimension.
Youth workers will have the opportunity to learn about it through upcoming training courses in April,and then spread it locally through workshops and activities.
The meeting has been enriched by the inspiring intervention of Dario Ferrante. He shared with partners his innovative idea implemented in 2007: the creation of a Sicilian Performing arts festival (theatre, dance, music) called Alter-native Energies Festival totally fueled by renewable energy with the scope to also promote local artists. These apparently contrasting aims were actually well fitting, as the idea at the ground was to foster an environmental mentality through the most powerful and immediate instrument to vehiculate messages: music. Partners have delightfully welcomed the example and a lively Q&A session followed.
The project is now accessing its central stage and many activities will be coming in the next months.
