The project’s mission is to promote the integration of Third Country Nationals’ (TCN) in the social and cultural life of the host community where they live and to foster capacity-building of local communities on a successful model of integration.
In that direction the target groups will be involved in different cross-cultural activities, as active members of the society, such as cookery classes, creation of a booklet with international recipes and a documentary collecting all the target group experiences, intercultural festivals, walking cultural tours “Explore your city” and football matches, but also they will meet and support each other through the use of a digital tool, the INDIGO app.
- To foster knowledge and experience sharing as well as implementing capacity building programmes on successful action to increase third country nationals’ integration.
- To support the empowerment of migrants for more participation in general community life.
- To build partnerships and cooperation among all actors involved in promoting integration at community level.
- Delivering cookery courses and production of a booklet with multicultural recipes.
- Organisation of Intercultural Festivals.
- Hosting Futsal/Football matches.
- Arranging Walking tours ‘’ Explore your city cultural paths’’ within the hosting city to familiarize with the local history and culture.
- Promoting the INDIGO app with NGOs and TCNs, but also of Capacity Building Workshops aimed at developing host communities’ intercultural competencies.

- App Indigo enables vulnerable groups of to receive help directly from locals, while at the same time it enables them to actively participate in the community by offering their time and skills to other members and the participation in volunteering activities. The application lists the volunteering actions proposed by NGOs and Associations through geo-localization
- MIVA Documentaries showing experiences from festivals, futsal/football matches and walking tours in all partner countries.
Results
- Promoted the development and implementation of innovative actions to increase third country nationals’ engagement in the volunteering sector, as active members of the local community.
- Fostered knowledge and experience sharing, as well as implementing a capacity building programme focusing on third country nationals’ integration, stakeholders and local citizens from the targeted communities.
- Supported the empowerment of refugees and increase their participation in local community life.
- Developed partnerships and cooperation among stakeholders and all actors involved in promoting integration at a community and transnational level.
