The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the tourism industry in Italy, imposing various restrictions and measures to prevent the spread of the virus, which strongly limited tourism inflows to and from Italy. In response, efforts were made to strengthen both competitiveness and resilience by diversifying tourism services, promoting domestic and regional tourism where possible, and fostering a supportive entrepreneurial environment for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in tourism.
To better understand the challenges and changes faced by MSMEs in the tourism sector in Italy, we are conducting a survey as part of the ECOTOURS project. The survey is open to tourism professionals across different services and sub-sectors.

Please note that the ECOTOURS project supports the capacity building of MSMEs in the tourism sector to promote circular tourism and adopt environmental principles, practices, and standards in their operations. This survey, which focuses on the challenges and needs of the sector, will help us design targeted project activities and products aimed at revitalizing the tourism sector and supporting MSMEs.
