The project “ToC for you – Theory of Change“, Erasmus+ KA1 program (Mobility of youth workers), ended with the implementation of a training week, held from 13 to 21 June 2022 in Palermo – Italy, hosted by PRISM Impresa Sociale s.r.l.
Targeting youth workers working with and for vulnerable groups both in the EU and in Southern Mediterranean countries, the training focused primarily on strengthening the participants’ capacity to identify the needs of the realities they address and, consequently, to design, implement and monitor targeted programs and projects, using the methodology of the “Theory of Change”, with the aim of protecting the rights of the most vulnerable groups.
The contribution of experts in the field, co-experts and participating trainers, enabled the participants to embark on a true journey of personal development and growth that, together with the acquisition of skills related to new educational methods, Theory of Change and community development, led to the achievement of the expected results with more than positive feedback.
The participants in the training course were able to experience field activities, experiencing the development of a training program on the Theory of Change, the realization of needs and risks analysis, the learning of how to identify opportunities for European funds and the writing of project proposals.
In addition, there were moments dedicated to the exchange of good practices and experiences by the participating national groups – Italy, Jordan, Palestine, Greece, Turkey and Romania – who had the opportunity to learn more about both the cultural framework and the different contexts of the target countries, as well as their own.
At the end of the training all the participants certainly added to their personal baggage a set of practical results but also of personal growth, being able to count on a greater understanding of the importance of taking an active role in society, of the entrepreneurial possibilities of migrants and vulnerable categories in general.
In addition, all project results are valuable material for the dissemination and replication of models like this in the international context.
