RadicalGAME stands as a transformative initiative strategically designed to counter youth radicalization by establishing connections between policy, research, and practical interventions. At its core, the project seeks to empower young individuals through an innovative gamified learning pack that serves as a catalyst for constructive dialogues on critical subjects, such as radicalization and civic engagement.
RadicalGAME serves as an anchor, bringing together the domains of practice, research, and policy to make a substantial contribution to the development of a future that is safer and more inclusive. In order to address the underlying causes of radicalization and promote resilience, communication, and a sense of community among young people, the initiative takes an innovative and participatory approach which helps to create a society that is more inclusive and resistant to extremism.
- To promote transnational and cross-sectoral collaborations in game-based learning for enhancing civic engagement and lowering the risk of radicalisation among youth.
- To increase links between research, policy and practice by bringing together policy-makers, youth workers, PVE experts and youth for the co-creation of the project main results.
- To adopt a youth-led participatory approach through leadership to design, develop and implement their own anti-radicalisation offline and online initiatives.
- To advance quality of youth work in the use of game-based learning to enhance active citizenship and prevent youth radicalisation.
- Active Involvement in Design: Actively engaging youth professionals and young people in the design phase of the project’s activities.
- Gamified Educational Pack: Developing a user-informed gamified educational pack tailored to the preferences and requirements of the target audience.
- Interactive Digital Platform: Creating an interactive digital platform that resonates with the dynamic interests and engagement styles of young individuals.
- Youth-Led Social Media Dialogues: Facilitating youth-led dialogues on social media platforms, fostering discussions on active citizenship, and addressing issues related to the prevention of radicalization and discrimination.
- User-Review Panel: Comprising 25 youth practitioners, youth, and PVE experts for co-creation and input.
- Alignment Workshops: Involving 50 stakeholders for co-design, resulting in national and transnational reports.
- RadicalGame Package: 50 game cards, 20 online challenges, a Facilitation Guide, and Learning Outcomes Matrix in five languages.
- Multilingual Online Learning Platform: Featuring digitised game cards, challenges, and an Online Support Database.
- Capacity Building: Sessions with 75 youth trainers and practitioners, plus workshops engaging 100 youth.
- Transnational Dialogue Roundtables: Involving 40 policymakers, youth practitioners, and PVE experts.
Results
- Boosted skills of youth practitioners and foster collaborations across borders and cultures in the realm of radicalization and civic engagement.
- Provided young individuals with game-based opportunities and experiences to elevate their active citizenship through the application of critical thinking, intercultural skills, and media literacy.
