EUROPE PLUS
Programme: Erasmus+ KA2: Cooperation Partnerships in School Education
Reference: 2021-1-PL01-KA220-SCH-000024024
Start date: 01/11/2021
End date: 01/11/2023
The EUROPE PLUS project contributes to the preservation and promotion of European Union common values (human dignity, freedom, interculturality, equality and solidarity) by developing innovative approaches for the school system to pass on those values in classroom practices, fostering discussion and mutual learning where students can learn to collaborate, deliberate, appreciate differences and find consensus.
- To promote the European Union values through school education by empowering teachers and pupils with the tools to make those values effective and practical.
- To equip teachers with tools to have students reflect, enter into dialogue with others and develop democratic skills.
- To detect opportunities and danger situations for students during the learning process of common European values.
- To make students as well as all teachers aware of the need for developing and exemplifying common European values.
- To create theatre plays led by teachers to be enacted in schools by students for the entire school community, as well as to develop materials based on box of values to implement exercises and games.
Development, assessment and pilot testing at school level of innovative approaches like “Value Theatre” and “Box of Values”. Teachers will be challenged to develop their own educational vision on teaching common values through theatre and non-formal education exercises.
- “Value Theatre”, educational forum where teachers may educate students on common values through theatre-based activities. This approach will see students holding dialogues about values and what is the role of education in cultivating them in citizens.
- “Box of Values”, methodology for exercises and games to foster discussion and mutual learning where students can learn to collaborate, deliberate, appreciate differences and find consensus.
Results
- EU values that can stimulate the development of innovative practices (and curriculum materials) that can function as examples for teachers.
- Theatre as a conflict-oriented and consequence-free mean for education.
- Discussion on common values, in which students reflect and enter into dialogue with others about their experiences and values.
Co-experts
- Teachers from partner schools and other educational staff
- 400+ pupils from partner schools (age 12-16)
