PRO.D.I.G.Y seeks to promote the use and adoption of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) solutions to assist disabled people, first responders and companies during workplace emergencies to increase the safety of people with disabilities.

Acquired Emergency Preparedness Training offers people and companies ways to prepare and be protected during unexpected workplace emergencies.

The project prepares a state-of-the-art, easy to implement, easy to use, easy to adopt awareness, training, and exercising environment and tool that will assist SMEs in optimizing their emergency planning to be utilized by people of all disabilities and prepare people of disabilities for emergency scenarios.

Objectives

To assist companies in assessing their level of disability inclusion in their emergency response plans.
To develop a methodological framework to support target group in achieving disability inclusion in their emergency response plans.
To provide companies with all necessary tools to promote disability inclusion in their emergency response plans and appropriately train employees with disabilities in emergencies situations.
To equip individuals (company employees, disabled people, first responders) with necessary knowledge on disability inclusion and training in emergencies.
To raise awareness regarding the necessity of disability inclusion and training in emergency situations.

Activities

Setting the criteria and requirements of an Online Europe-Wide Assessment with experts to examine how organisations include people with disabilities in their emergency preparedness plans.
Setting up a TOOLBOX with all required tools that can be used by the target group for implement the Emergency Preparedness according to planning process.
Delivery of Self-Assessment Tool (Benchmark analysis of comparable learning tools; Design and Development of the tool; Testing and Finalisation).

Resources

“Workplace Emergency Preparedness Methodology”, a step-by-step framework to promote workplace emergency planning with disability inclusion.
“Workplace Emergency Preparedness Self-Assessment Tool” to help companies to identify gap sin their workplace emergency planning and training (including training disabled people).
“Workplace Emergency Preparedness Training Course”, an educational package with interactive material including videos, gamification, quizzes, AR/VR tools.
PRO.D.I.G.Y Open Online Training Platform.

Results

Assessed current emergency preparation status at work in relation to people with disabilities.
Embedded AR/VR into emergency planning for achieving great results into (a) training (b) exercising and (c) improving their plans and response capabilities.
Minimized cost of training and exercising as these can be run through AR/VR simulation and serious games, at group or individual level.
Maximized the measurement, control, monitoring and improvements in relation to disability emergency plans and management within an enterprise.
